YOUR PRE-LOVED FURNITURE and WHITEGOODS, and other HOUSEHOLD ESSENTIALS (including non - perishable food) Given EERN’s role is to provide emergency aid to those in need, coupled with the severe space limitations in its warehouse, it is important that only those goods listed as acceptable, be collected. The condition of the goods collected is important. Furniture and other household goods in poor condition are not acceptable -as they simply waste our volunteer resources in handling them, take up limited space in the warehouse and have to be ultimately disposed of. As such the final decision as to whether or not to accept goods remains the discretion of our drivers at the time or the warehouse supervisor, if the goods are delivered directly to the warehouse. Delivery / Collection: Donations of these goods can be delivered to EERN's warehouse between 9am and 1pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively, arrangements can be made to have your goods collected by our volunteers by contacting our warehouse on 9874 8433 during business hours to arrange a time for collection. Our collection area is the City of Whitehorse and abutting municipalities namely Manningham, Maroondah, Knox, Monash and Boroondara
Items Accepted by EERN include the following: Household Furniture (in good condition) Whitegoods (in good working order) Electrical Appliances (in working order) - Microwaves, TVs, toasters, kettles, lamps, heaters, fans etc. All electrical appliances have to be tested and tagged in accordance with Australian Standards. Those with cords that are frayed, torn or damaged are not acceptable as EERN will have to dispose of them. Beds / Mattresses, Bedding / Linen and blankets (in clean condition), Household Utensils - small amounts of crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment Baby Goods - limited but clothing only, and in good condition & clean Non perishable food lines and toiletries Items NOT accepted by EERN include the following: Cabinet clothes dryers Stoves, dishwashers, hot water units Old style wire base beds, large wooden base beds, king sized beds or hospital - type beds Sofa beds Radiograms / Organs / Speakers Computers / Typewriters / Photocopiers / Printers / Scanners Exercise equipment Prams / Pushers / Cots Garage sale leftovers EERN and its drivers reserve the right to decline items considered unsuitable for its needs.
