PUBLIC RELATIONS:
Following our Founder Keith Rooney’s decision to enter into well earned retirement, we have appointed Pam O’Donnell-Parris as our new Public Relations Officer.
Pam comes from a wide spectrum of community service as a volunteer and has welcomed the opportunity to speak on behalf of our organisation.
She is available to speak to groups with a presentation outlining the services offered by EERN and the many and varied organisations assisting the disadvantaged in the Eastern suburbs. For contact details for Pam, refer to the Contact page.
GALA CHARITY CONCERT:
The joint Rotary Club of Box Hill Central / EERN project featuring the Victorian Police Show and Pipe Bands was held in March. Numbers wewere down a little on previous years but it was a great event once again and enjoyed by all who attended. EERN’s share of the net proceeds wads was near $3,000.
KNOX ART SHOW:
In In April, EERN volunteers provided assistance to the Rotary Club of Bayswater in running this fantastic annual event. We were delighted to have received a substantial donation from the Club to support the work of EERN in the local community, as a consequence.
WHITEHORSE FARMERS MARKET:
It iIt is held on 2nd Sunday of each month, in the Whitehorse Council grounds, Nunawading. It is conducted by Rotary Clubs in the City of Whitehorse. EERN has been one of the beneficiaries of this market fundraiser. Please support the above events (and any of our other valuable supporters) when you are able.
COMMUNITY SUPPORTERS:
We are continuing to receive welcome support from the community at large in the form of both goods and donations, and we are particularly pleased to place on record our grateful thanks to the following organisations for their recent generous financial contributions:
Blackburn North Lions Club
Box Hill Institute
Forest Hill Rotary Club
Freemasons Victoria
Homeground Outreach Services
Jack Brockhoff Foundation (The)
Lodge of Australia Felix
Ringwood Rotary Club
Whitehorse Benevolent Society
As a result we are now in a position to fund the purchase of a small number of second-hand, serviced, refrigerators to assist us in reducing tthe waiting list for these essential household items. This is something that we have not been in a position to do in the past. We still cannot assist everyone but each extra one purchased will help some family in their time of need.
Our supporters are many and varied and each plays a vital role in enabling EERN to continue to provide its unique service to assist the needy of the community.
We very much appreciate the valuable contribution of all supporters – EERN could not provide the service it does without them.
